Michael McCarthy, Clinical Director of Artificial Pancrease Treatment Centers in Newport Beach, California.
In this show we examine the nature and extent of the health crisis of Diabetes, the collateral damage done by the disease, and precisely what it is that is not working right in the bodies of diabetics. McCarthy, gives us a survey of the disease and its effects, and then a survey of various treatment regimens, including the artificial pancreas. This treatment may be compared to dialysis for kidney disease sufferers, only, in this case, the affected organ is the pancreas.
McCarthy helps us understand how a malfunctioning pancreas fails to signal the liver to do its job of supplying energy to the body’s cells, and how the artificial pancreas supplies those signals in therapeutic doses at therapeutic intervals such that the liver begins to service the cells of the body again, these cells return to their normative level of function, and health returns.
Diabetes is so prevalent a disease that nearly everyone is affected or has a friend or relative with the disease. Therefore, this show is a very personal matter.

Dr. Jabbour comes from Lebanon and lived with his family in Egypt with the Christina discipling organization, The Navigators for fifteen years before coming to Colorado in January 1991. In April 2011 he was appointed by the International Leadership of The Navigators as an
Ambassador at Large. Since 1997 he and his family have been US citizens.
Although he comes from a Christian background, as he studied for a doctorate in Islamics with a focus on Islamic Fundamentalism, he learned to stand in the shoes of Muslims and to see the world through their eyes. He has authored three books in Arabic, and four in His latest book is
The Crescent Through the Eyes of The Cross on the Muslims' worldview. This is what we will be discussing today.
In this fascinating interview, Dr. Jabbour takes us through some of the material found in his book,
The Crescent Through the Eyes of The Cross, helping us to understand the wide variety of types of Muslims we may encounter or read about. We will see that not all Muslims are the same, and that Americans need only feel threatened by a marginal fraction of Muslims, those who are radicalized militant Fundamentalists.

Alex Wurmbrand is the grandson of Richard Wurmbrand – the Romanian pastor, author and founder of Voice of the Martyrs. Alex has been a volunteer representative with the organization since 2011 and is honored to speak on behalf of the global persecuted church. Alex is a professional violinist, teacher, and composer in Los Angeles. He holds degrees in music from UC Santa Cruz and the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Currently, he is enrolled in the Music Business Program at the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, Ca. Outside of music, Alex enjoys being outdoors skateboarding, surfing, yoga, and running.
Alex comes to us on this program as the grandson of Richard Wurmbrand, who was voted the fifth greatest Romanian ... ever. Richard was a Jewish believer in Jesus who was imprisoned and tortured for 14 years under the Communists in Romania, including three years in absolute solitary confinement under conditions hard to imagine. His wife Sabine was consigned to slave labor, but was released after three years, never knowing if Richard was alive or not, and if so, when he would be released. He was eventually ransomed out of captivity, and they came to the west where they founded what is now known as "Voice of the Martyrs," an organization that keeps before the eyes of the Church the plight of Christians being tortured for their faith in various countries of the world.
Today we will hear about his grandfather and grandmother, two Jews rightly termed saints by those who knew them. We will also hear about those who are suffering around the world for their faith, and what we need to do that their suffering might not be in vain.
